Havi hearts books!

Havi is doing really well with her sight words, and today we started a chart so we can keep track of all that she knows without needing to sound them out. Brad and Jennifer gave her some great 'learning books' (as Havi calls them) a few months ago, and she loves them, picking at least one each night at story time.

I can't believe my baby is learning to read... but most of all she gets it!!

Here is her chart as of today - we add all the words she can instantly recognize. She can can sound out many more and we'll add those once they're on the 'sight word' list.

So proud of my big girl.

Christmas Present Hit....

The Christmas present from Auntie Dan has been a huge hit... it's taken up residence in the front room and gets played with quite a lot through out the day, starting at breakfast time while watching morning programs and after school while we wait for dinner.

The present in question is a gorgeous wooden princess castle.

The castle is the perfect size for her little 'Favourite Moments' Disney princesses and of course, her My Little Ponies, Strawberry Shortcakes, Playmobil figures and dragons.

Together they have some wonderful parties and serious princess rescues....
