Havi-ism's....

Photobucket

So Havi's favourite word at the moment is nincompoop. If I had a dollar for every time she said it, I'd be rich!

Me: "Havi would you like lunch?"

Havi: "Of course I would you nincompoop!"

~

Me: "OK, time for bed."

Havi: "No it's not you nincompoop!"

~

Peter: "Has Charlie been in your room while you were napping?"

Havi: "Yes, he's a nincompoop!"

~

Yup... everything and everyone is a nincompoop!

School Update

The new school just gets better and better. We truly love it... as does Havi - which is the most important thing!

She's been on a couple more field trips, one morning bowling and another for a rainbow picnic at the park (along with fun on the splash pad). She's had Beach Week which ended in a luau, Ice Week which ended in an ice cream social. Fairy Tales Week which included a special storyteller guest, All American Week for July 4th and last week was Circus Week. She came home on Wednesday with her face beautifully painted by Kiwi the Clown, the same lady that painted her face at the Chinese New Year.

She loves swimming each afternoon and always comes home smelling of sun cream - all this out door activity and she's getting quite the golden tan!

This past week I sat her down with my laptop and a mouse and was amazed to see her navigate her way through pbskids.org and play a whole bunch of educational Curious George games without my help - all due to the daily computer class.

She's constantly sounding out words and talking about letters. We have so many pieces of paper laying around the house where she's written lists of names and words.

Best of all she is happy and excited to go to school on her school days. Her teachers, Miss Erin and Miss Rachel, are great and tell us all about her day each time we pick her up.

Even better... Ian is likely joining her class on August 2nd... he's going to LOVE it.

July 4th

On the afternoon of July 4th we joined Ian and Morgan (and their Mum's and Dad's) at a local park to watch the fireworks. This was the first time since Havi was born that we'd gone out somewhere to watch.

Havi told us a few times she wanted to see them but not hear them... luckily by the time the fireworks got underway she was OK with hearing them too :-)

On the way to the park I snapped this picture... probably the cutest thing ever!

We got there early and went to check out everything set up at the park. It wasn't really very well organized for so many people, so after we'd grabbed carnival snacks we found a spot to set up camp.

Havi and Morgan clearly colour coordinated their outfits!

While we waited for the show to start Havi and Morgan has fun racing back and forth and being goofy.

At around 9pm (1.5 hours after Havi's usual bed time) the fireworks started. The kids loved it and got super excited when some of the really big ones went off.

The finale was a little on the loud side... but all in all lots of fun!

We got home about 10.30pm and I'm pretty sure Havi was asleep by 10.31pm!

Havi and the Fuzzies

Havi, Charlie and Moo have always got along swimmingly, but I've noticed lately that they're even more affectionate with each other.

Charlie (or Charles as Havi calls him) HAS to be by her when ever she's sat still and Moo loves to be in the same room as her, just making sure she's OK. Story time before bed includes the whole family... fuzzies and all.

Here are just a few pictures I've taken of them all over the last few weeks.

Morning snuggles...

Havi was actually sat there first on the last one then Moo felt the need to snuggle...

The Penguin

I present to you Havi's story about the penguin. I heard her telling Peter this story this morning, so I asked her to tell me it later. Funny thing is she recited it almost exactly as she told it to Peter. Quite the imagination. It's in three parts as I can only load a minutes worth at a time.

Enjoy!

I think we should approach Pixar to make the movie!
