Princess and Pirates Day

Today was Princess and Pirates day at the Barnes and Nobles story/craft time. We surprised Havi and picked up Selin on the way. Havi decided to go dressed as a Spanish princess. They both looked so cute.

After a couple of pirate and princess stories, everyone made crowns and spyglasses and coloured some pictures. Fun morning... just wish more kids had joined in the dressing up fun.

Sister vs. Cousin

A conversation about babies...

Havi: "Mum, Auntie Dan is your sister right?"

Me: "Yup, that's right."

Havi: "Mum, I want a sister."

Me: "Do you really? Do you know what that means?"

Havi: "No."

Me: "That means I have to have a baby, so you can have a sister."

Havi: "Oh, no" (with a look of disgust on her face) "I'll just have a new cousin then."

And yes she will... in about nine more weeks :-)

Easter Weekend

Saturday afternoon fun with Selin and Kaan at the park...

Sunday morning fun at The Knaupes - dressed up all pretty. Ben and Eli gave Havi a little stuffed cow - she hasn't put it down once. It goes to bed, school, the supermarket... everywhere with her, and she tells everyone Ben and Eli gave it to her :-)

And the Easter Bunny was good to Havi :-)

Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter Egg hunt at Havi's school was held on a Thursday - Havi doesn't go to school Tuesday's and Thursday's so I asked what time the egg hunt would be so I could take her in and she could enjoy it with all her classmates. So at 10:44am we arrived for the 10:45am egg hunt only to find it had finished! Try explaining that to a three year old who was hyped up for it.

Instead, the teachers quickly organized a mini egg hunt for Havi. The three different age group playgrounds are sectioned off my a chain link fence. One was empty so they hid a bunch of eggs in there. Then Havi went in with her 99c yellow basket (the best thing on the planet) and collected her eggs.

This ended up being pretty hilarious... as Havi hunted all her friends lined up against the chain link fence and shouted to her, telling her where they were. It was so loud, and hearing 20 odd kids shouted "Havi, a blue one over there", "Look under there Havi" at the top of their lungs, and listening to Havi shout back "Slow down, just a minute" while using large arm gestures... so funny.

She came away with a huge basket full of goodies (I wonder where the sweets went?) and a big smile on her face.
