Countdown to Disney!

After keeping the Christmas secret, we just couldn't do it again. Plus we needed something for Havi to look forward to when we had to wave Grandma, Granddad and Auntie Dan goodbye at the airport. So, we told Havi about our planned trip to Disney!

She now Havi has the longest countdown ever... we're at 127 days!

EXCITING!

Havi and Carlo sitting in a tree...

So... Havi has a 'boyfriend'... or whatever you call it when they're 4.5 years old!!!

Carlo is as cute as can be, and to be honest, if I had to pick he'd be a top choice! They have lots in common... they're in the same class, they're both Cuban and they like Spongebob! Match made in heaven, no?

Today was Carlo's birthday party, and it was a crazy time that wore all the kids out. Lots of bouncing, zip-tie's, parachute fun and cake!

Peter and Havi spent forever on the trampoline...

... and rolling around in the giant rolly thing!

Chopstick Havi!

I think she did a pretty awesome job first time with chopsticks!

Inseparable!

Havi loves Moo... but there is an extra special bond between Havi and Charlie. Wherever Havi is, Charlie is. If we let him sleep in her bedroom at night, he would...

Before Christmas we noticed a nasty growth on his side and took him to the vet. Turned out it was best to get it removed. So the week after Christmas Charlie went in for surgery, he's a 16 year old cat so we were all a little scared.

But of course, Charlie being Charlie, he came though kicking.

If it's possible... he's now EVEN more affectionate with us... especially Havi. For almost three weeks he's been walking around with his fancy cone of shame... making sure he gets as many snuggles as possible into each day.

Brit's in Texasshire....

Grandma, Granddad and Auntie Dan stayed for a whole two weeks over Christmas and New Year. We ate lots, drank lots (well, not Havi) and they shopped lots.

Christmas Madness 2010!

Havi family here for Christmas was perfection. The excitement was multiplied and underneath the tree was overflowing...

Before Havi went to bed we laid out a blueberry muffin and milk for Santa (Havi's choice) and magic reindeer food and carrots for Rudolph and his friends. Havi made Auntie Dan go to bed at the same time (although she got up after Havi fell asleep - shhh, don't tell). I 'jingled' bells outside her bedroom window... but apparently they didn't hear.... note to self, bigger bells for Christmas 2011.

Santa brought the three things on her list... a princess castle, some mini princes for her mini princesses and a Mulan doll.

The look on her face when she opened the castle was great... thank you Auntie Dan!

Christmas lights...

This year Austin decided to not light up Zilker Park with lights... so instead we drove down to Johnson City to see the courthouse and the Perdernales Electric Company building lit up - by horse drawn carriage.

Havi was in her element in the carriage... just like a princess... and the lights were beautiful.

Surprise Success!

The surprise of the century was a success. A big success.

Havi went to bed on the Sunday night completely unaware of who was going to be waiting for her when she woke up the next morning. Once she was in bed I nipped off to the airport to pick up Mum, Chris and Dan... all flights on time (success number one).

The next morning everyone was thankfully still on British time as we hustled about the the house before Havi woke up. Everyone was dressed and ready to go (hidden in the spare bedroom) before we heard the magical words "The light is greeeen" coming from Havi's bedroom.

We got Havi up and opened her advent calender, then I reminded her that there was another surprise that morning and said I'd go check to see if it's ready. I got myself sat on the bed in the spare room, video in hand, and shouted back to Havi to come in.... she opened the door and....

Magical. Success.
